Kathmandu, Sept 27: The Nepal Bar Association has expressed its reservation over the recommendation for the appointment of Justices without addressing their demand for the repeal of the Judicial Council Regulations, 2074 (First Amendment 2080).
Issuing a press release by NBA General Secretary Anjita Khanal today, serious concern and discontent has been expressed over the decision to recommend the appointment of justices without addressing the demands of the Bar.
“Nepal Bar Association expresses its serious disagreement and concern over the decision as council recommended for the appointment of the Justices in the Supreme Court amid protests”, the release reads.
Amidst the Bar protests, the Judicial Council meeting today decided to recommend Patan High Court Chief Judge Nripadhwaj Niraula and Tulsipur High Court Chief Judge Nityananda Pandey as apex court justices.
