Agency, May 2: Mumbai Indians extended their winning streak to six matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a commanding 100-run victory over Rajasthan Royals on Thursday night.
Chasing a massive target of 217 runs, Rajasthan collapsed for just 117 in 16.1 overs. Jofra Archer was the top scorer with 30 runs, followed by captain Riyan Parag with 16, Shubham Dubey with 15, Yashasvi Jaiswal with 13, and Dhruv Jurel with 11.
Mumbai’s bowlers delivered a stellar performance, with Trent Boult and Karn Sharma picking up three wickets each. Jasprit Bumrah grabbed two, while Deepak Chahar and Hardik Pandya took one wicket apiece.
Earlier in the evening at Jaipur, Mumbai posted a formidable total of 217/2 after being sent in to bat. Ryan Rickelton led the charge with 61 runs, Rohit Sharma added 53, and both Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 48.
Maheesh Theekshana and Riyan Parag claimed a wicket each for Rajasthan.
With this victory, Mumbai climbed to the top of the points table with 14 points from 11 matches. Meanwhile, Rajasthan’s playoff hopes have ended as they remain at 6 points from the same number of games.
