Kathmandu, Sept 27: The Ministry of Home Affairs has called on everyone to help maintain peace, order, and security in the country.
In a press statement issued today, the Ministry said that preliminary preparations for the upcoming general election have already begun. It urged all individuals and groups to ensure that any assemblies, conferences, meetings, or protest programmes are held peacefully, without violence, provocation, or disruption to others.
The Ministry stated that the general election preparations began after the formation of a new interim government following the Gen-Z movement on September 8 and 9. The movement had called for the promotion of national interest, good governance, and for prevention of corruption.
The interim government, led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, was formed on September 12 with the mandate to hold the House of Representatives (HoR) elections on March 5, 2026.
