Kathmandu, Oct 13: The Ministry of Health and Population has urged the health institutions to align salary, service and facility with government standard.
Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr Prakash Budhathoki, shared that the Ministry had already issued a circular to all government hospitals, institutions, medical colleges and community and private hospitals, to ensure the salary and incentives for nurses and health workers as equal to the government ones.
After the directive was not implemented in some health institutions, the Ministry made round of circular.
Nurses working at Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital are agitated by demanding the salary as determined by the government. Dr Budhathoki shared that they had instructed to make arrangement of additional allowance for those working for extra hours.
The institutions are also asked not to keep the original educational certificates of their employees at the office and not to recruit human resources on daily wages. Adoption of banking system for salary is another reminder.
