Minister Pokharel stresses need to increase attraction towards sports

Kathmandu, March 31: Minister for Youth and Sports Sasmit Pokharel has stressed the need to attract youth towards sports, while suggesting that they should be involved in it from schools, local clubs and grassroots.

At a program organized by the National Sports Council in his honor here today, Minister Pokharel said that the council and other organizations related to sports should be active to produce athletes who can enhance the prestige of the nation through sports.

Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Achyutam Lamichhane said that the Nepal Sports Science Academy should be made more effective.

Council Member-Secretary Ramcharitra Mehta apprised the Minister about the structure of the NSC board and working committee, scope of work, budget, condition of physical infrastructure and other activities of the council.

Earlier, Minister Pokharel inspected the under-construction GenZ Park and Sports Science Research Center at the International Sports Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur.
