Meena Deuba leads Nepal Police to Jhapa Women’s Gold Cup glory

Jhapa, November 10: Nepal Police Club Crowned Champions of Jhapa Women’s Gold Cup

Nepal Police Club claimed the title of the LBD Jhapa Women’s Gold Cup after defeating Nepal APF Club 1–0 in the final held on Monday afternoon.

The decisive match took place at Dudhe Stadium in Shivsatakshi, Jhapa, where Meena Deuba scored the only goal of the match in the 21st minute, giving Police an early lead. Despite both teams creating chances throughout the game, no further goals were scored, sealing the victory for Police.

With this triumph, Nepal Police Club ended the long-standing dominance of APF in women’s football, lifting the prestigious trophy.

As champions, Police received NPR 1,010,000, while runners-up APF settled for NPR 500,000.

In the individual awards, Police’s Meena Deuba was named both the Best Player of the Tournament and the Top Scorer. Her teammate Usha Nath was awarded Best Goalkeeper. From APF, Man Maya Damai won Best Defender, Renuka Nagarkoti earned Best Midfielder, and Anita Basnet was honored as Best Forward. The Best Coach award went to Police’s Bhola Nath Silwal, while Jennifer Rana Magar of Tribhuwan Army was recognized as the Emerging Player.

The Best Player of the Tournament received NPR 150,000, while each of the other individual award winners received NPR 25,000.
