Kathmandu, Oct 10: Coordinator of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that his party was committed to holding the elections in a free and fair manner.
At an interaction programme with the editors in Lalitpur on Friday, the former Prime Minister said that the responsible political parties, civil society, intellectual community and the mass media should be centered on creating favorable environment for timely elections.
The Maoist Centre Coordinator said that the country should be offered an outlet politically from the House of Representatives (HoR) by conducting polls on March 5 and urging all walks of life for the same.
Similarly, he said that national consensus should be forged for the nation’s sovereignty and independence, while addressing the aspirations and demands of Gen-Z in the changing political context since the country at present was in a very complex situation.
Prachanda was of the view that public discontents and resentment, mostly of the Gen-Z, should be addressed through constitution’s amendment and added that good-governance should be maintained by ending anomalies, ill-practices and corruption.
Likewise, he called for political parties and the stakeholders for their orientation to lead the nation towards economic prosperity.
Expressing a surprise to the extent of arrogance still prevalent on some political leaders, Dahal viewed that the political parties have no option but to mend their weaknesses and visit the people.
On the occasion, Prachanda also said that he was transformed as the party coordinator from the post of chairman by internalizing the aspirations of the Gen-Z movement.
