Maoist Centre Chair Dahal suggests government to address people’s problems

Kathmandu, March 11: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has suggested the government to address the problems facing the people.

Speaking in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, demanding special time, Chair Dahal mentioned that people have been facing problems as loan shark victims have not got justice and demands of Guthi victims have not been addressed.

He shared that peace process in the country was the turning point of establishment of republicanism, warning the bodies concerned not to consider the good faith shown in course of movement launched to end the monarchy as a weakness.

Stating that no one has privilege to go against the system gained from people’s sacrifice, the CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair argued that there could be no comparison between democracy and monarchy.

He warned that a movement would determine its course if ‘unconstitutional and undemocratic ways’ are adopted without following basic principles of democracy.

Chair Dahal urged pro-monarchists to find their place in democracy, saying monarchy could not be an alternative to republic. “I request the monarchists to find their places in democracy. We have no objection to it,” argued the Maoist Centre Chair and the leader of the main opposition in parliament.

Power sharing parties have failed to maintain good governance which has been posing challenges to democracy, he opined.
