Agency, July 27: Manchester United emerged victorious in their latest pre-season outing as part of the Premier League Summer Series, defeating West Ham United 2-1 on Saturday night.
The match, held at MetLife Stadium, saw Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes steal the spotlight, netting both goals for the Red Devils. Fernandes opened the scoring in just the 5th minute with a composed penalty, giving United an early lead.
He doubled the advantage in the 52nd minute, capping off a well-worked team move with a clinical finish. West Ham responded through Jarrod Bowen, who found the back of the net in the 63rd minute to keep his side in contention.
Despite late pressure from the Hammers, Manchester United held firm, and no further goals were scored, sealing a 2-1 win for Ruben Amorim’s side as they continue their preparations for the upcoming season.
