Madrid cruise past Betis as Gonzalo García nets hat-trick

Agency, Jan 5: Young forward Gonzalo García starred with a brilliant hat-trick as Real Madrid registered a commanding 5–1 victory over Real Betis in Spain’s La Liga on Sunday night.

Playing at their home ground Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid dominated the contest with García leading the charge, while Asensio and Francisco García also found the back of the net. Juan Hernández scored the lone goal for Betis.

Madrid took an early lead in the 20th minute when García converted a pass from Rodrygo. The young forward doubled the advantage in the 50th minute, scoring his second goal of the night. Just six minutes later, Asensio added a third to put Madrid firmly in control.

Betis pulled one back in the 66th minute through Hernández to make it 3–1, but any hopes of a comeback were quickly dashed. García completed his hat-trick in the 82nd minute, restoring Madrid’s three-goal cushion. Deep into stoppage time, Francisco García capped off the emphatic win by scoring Madrid’s fifth goal.

With the victory, Real Madrid move to the top of the La Liga table with 45 points from 19 matches. Real Betis, who have played one game fewer, remain sixth with 28 points.
