Madhes province clinches TB Shah Memorial Cricket title

Karnali, June 14: The Madhes province has clinched the title of the TB Shah Memorial U-16 National Cricket tournament.

In the final match of the tournament held today in Birendranagar, Surkhet, the Madhes province emerged winner, defeating the Bagmati province by seven wickets.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss, the Bagmati gathered 112 runs in 33 overs of the limited 50-over game.

In response, opener for the Madhes province team Ayan Mukhiya stroke 22 off 33 being not out while Santu Mandal contributed 43 off 22. Likewise, Sushant Singh secured 12 off 15 and Parimarjan Yadav and Mahi Yadav made equal four runs.

Nepali Congress Karnali province parliamentary party leader, Jeewan Bahadur Shahi handed a cash prize of Rs 125,000 to the winner Madhes province.

Chairperson of the Karnali Provincial Cricket Association, Padam Bahadur Khadka informed that the tournament was hosted by the Cricket Association of Nepal and co-hosted by Karnali Provincial Cricket Association.

Cricket teams from all seven provinces had participated in the tournament held from June 2.
