Agency, April 28: Liverpool have secured the English Premier League title in stunning fashion, crushing Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 on Sunday night at Anfield and wrapping up the championship with four games to spare.
Despite falling behind early on home soil, Liverpool responded emphatically to seal the win. Dominic Solanke opened the scoring in the 12th minute to give Liverpool an early lead. However, Tottenham quickly responded, with Luis Díaz leveling the match at 1-1 in the 16th minute.
Liverpool regained control soon after. Alexis Mac Allister struck in the 24th minute to restore the home side’s advantage, and Cody Gakpo extended the lead to 3-1 with a goal in the 34th minute, sending Liverpool into halftime comfortably ahead.
Mohamed Salah added a fourth in the 63rd minute, further strengthening Liverpool’s dominance. Shortly after, in the 69th minute, Tottenham’s Destiny scored an own goal, sealing a comprehensive 5-1 victory for the Reds.
With this result, Liverpool sit atop the Premier League table with 82 points from 34 matches, ensuring the title is theirs with four games remaining. Tottenham, meanwhile, remain in 16th place with 37 points from the same number of games.
