Kathmandu, Sept 18: Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has called on all citizens to be united to lift the country out of present crisis. The Speaker suggested the interim government that it moved ahead by resolving the current problems.
Speaker Ghimire said it before media persons after the inspection of fire-ravaged Federal Parliament Building on Thursday. Together with him was Deputy-Speaker Indira Ranamagar.
The New Baneshwor-based Federal Parliament Building was torched and vandalized during the Gen-Z protest occurred on September 8 and 9.
Speaker Ghimire expressed sorrow over the incident that caused a massive loss of human lives and property across the country.
As per the Article 91 (6.a) of the constitution, the Speaker and Deputy-Speaker of the HoR will remain in the posts until the day before filing the candidacy for the next election of the HoR in the context of the dissolution of HoR.
