Kathmandu, April 19: The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) organized a leadership handover programme to the newly-elected working committee on Saturday.
At the annual general meeting and leadership handover programme, outgoing President of NBA Gopal Krishna Ghimire passed the baton for the new team led by Prof Dr Bijay Kant Mishra.
On the occasion, NBA President Prof Dr Mishra expected supports from all sides to make NBA a robust, politically independent and common organization of all lawyers.
Election to the 27th central working committee of the NBA was held on April 5. The 25-member new working committee was elected from the election.
Likewise, candidate of the NBA President in the April 5 election, Raman Shrestha, said that the NBA should not have the influence from the political parties and government adding that any of such influence would be unacceptable.
