Madrid, Jan 18: Real Madrid registered an impressive victory in Spain’s La Liga on Saturday evening, defeating Levante 2–0.
Playing at their home ground, the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid sealed the win thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappé and Raúl Asensio, who each found the net once. Mbappé opened the scoring in the 58th minute by calmly converting a penalty to give the hosts the lead. Just seven minutes later, Asensio doubled Madrid’s advantage with a well-placed header from an Arda Güler cross.
Despite efforts from both sides, no further goals were scored in the remainder of the match, and Real Madrid comfortably saw out the game with a 2–0 victory.
With this win, Real Madrid have collected 48 points from 20 matches and currently sit second in the league table. Levante, meanwhile, remain in 19th position with 14 points from one match fewer.
