Kathmandu, March 3: The candidacy of Kishori Sah from the Rastriya Swatantra Party has been annulled by the Election Commission Nepal. Sah was contesting for a seat in the House of Representatives from Dhanusha Constituency No. 1.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari confirmed that the decision was taken to cancel Sah’s candidacy after it was found that he had been placed on the blacklist of banks and financial institutions.
According to the Commission, candidates listed on the blacklist of financial institutions are ineligible to contest elections.
A total of 42 candidates remain in the fray in the constituency, including Ram Chandra Mandal of Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), Ram Paltan Sah of Nepali Congress, and Matrika Prasad Yadav of the Nepal Communist Party.
