Lalitpur, Sept 12: The Nakkhu Jail Administration has appealed to all prisoners who escaped from the prison on September 9 to immediately come into contact.
The prisoners who escaped the jail during the nationwide protest of GenZ are urged to appear without delay and adhere to the prevailing legal processes and regulations.
In an appeal issued on Friday, the jail authority warned of harsher punishment to the inmates if they ignored the notice and delayed their return. Even the social rehabilitation processes could be adversely affected in case of ignorance, it added.
“All escaped inmates are officially appealed to immediately come in contact with the prison administration in line with legal criteria and social responsibility, and actively assist in maintaining public peace and order,” the statement read.
The jail authority further expressed commitment to providing necessary support and facilitation in the reinstatement with the protection of their rights and interests.
It is worth noting that the inmates including former Home Minister Rabi Lamchhane who was in the Nakkhu jail on a legal case relating to cooperative frauds was released by the protestors as the GenZ protest was intense.
