Kathmandu, April 3: The Indian government is set to implement seven High Impact Community Development projects (HICDP) in Nepal.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and the Embassy of India in Kathmandu was held to this effect on Wednesday.
As stated, India is extending a grant of 473 million rupees to Nepal for seven new HICDP.
The projects include school buildings, cold storages, and a maternity center. Local governments will lead the implementation across various provinces.
As part of the project, ‘cold store’ will be constructed in Madhyabindu Municipality-2 of Nawalpur and Laligurans Municipality-2 of Terhathum; building along with dormitory, and a dining hall of Janbal Secondary School in Gharpajong Rural Municipality-2 of Mustang, and building of Kalika Primary School in Gauriganja Municipality-11 of Kailali will be constructed.
Similarly, a maternity centre building will be constructed in Paroha Municipality-4 of Rautahat. Buildings of Kasturi Secondary School in Tripurasundari Municipality-7 of Dolpa, and Janakalyan Secondary School in Khajura Rural Municipality-4 of Banke will be constructed under the project.
