IGP Karki Receives Rank Insignia

Kathmandu, Nov 13: Newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki has officially assumed his duties after receiving his rank insignia.

At a ceremony held at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Secretary Rameshwar Dangal conferred the insignia on Karki, marking the formal start of his tenure as the chief of Nepal Police.

Former IGP Chandrakuber Khapung retired at midnight on November 11 (Kartik 26) under the mandatory 30-year service limit outlined in the Police Regulations. Following his retirement, the leadership of the Nepal Police has been handed over to Karki.
The Cabinet meeting on November 10 (Kartik 25) had decided to appoint Karki as the new Inspector General of Police ahead of Khapung’s retirement.
