ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Asia Qualifier: Nepal defeats Hong Kong

Kathmandu, April 16: Nepal has registered its third win under the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Asia Qualifier.

In today’s match, Nepal defeated Hong Kong by nine wickets to register their third win in the ongoing tournament.

Nepal secured the target of 116 runs set by Hong Kong in 12.3 overs at the loss of one wicket. For Nepal, Sahil Patel scored an unbeaten 42 runs while captain Naren Bhatta also remained unbeaten on 39 runs. Neeraj Yadav contributed 23 runs for Nepal. Nepal has scored an additional nine runs.

For Hong Kong, Shayan Puri took one wicket. Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the Lower Mulpani Cricket Ground, Hong Kong scored 115 runs in 46.2 overs.
Shiv Mathur scored a half-century for Hong Kong. He scored 63 runs in 116 balls with the help of four fours and a six. Similarly, Arya Panjwani (13), Veer Mathur (12) and Harry Thomas Hodgson (10) were the other contributors. Except these batters, none other Hong Kong players could make runs in the double digit.

Yuvraj Khatri took four wickets for Nepal. Similarly, Bipin Prasad Sharma took three wickets, Santosh Yadav two wickets and Ashok Dhami one wicket for Nepal.
