Kathmandu, March 23: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has claimed the recent House of Representatives (HoR) election was historic.
“We have set a new benchmark by successfully conducting HoR election in a short time. There was no bloodshed. The positive outcome is due to collective leadership and strong coordination amongst all stakeholders,” he argued.
Minister Aryal delivered this statement at a programme organized at the Home Ministry to honour the civil employees and security personnel for their contributions in the conduct of the March 5 HoR election. He presented certificates of appreciation to Home Secretary, Raj Kumar Shrestha, Defence Secretary, Kedernath Sharma, Chief of Staff of Nepali Army, Pradeep Jung KC, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dan Bahadur Karki, Armed Police Force’s Inspector General, Raju Aryal, Chief of the National Investigation Department, Tekendra Karki, and the officials of the district security committees of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.
Even security personnel and election staffs were recognized for their crucial role in making the election a success.
The Minister acknowledged that the historic roles played by the district security committees from central to district levels, construction command force, security cell and government officials to conduct the election. He termed their efforts the ‘responsible acts’ towards the State.
“The creativity and professionalism of the election staffs are remarkable. Unlike in the past, this time we carefully screened information, coordinated effectively and made well-informed decisions. The success of election was made possible by the coordinated effort among all security agencies at every level,” the Minister reflected.
Likewise, Secretary at Defense Ministry, Sharma, recalled that the strong coordination and close cooperation among the stakeholders played a pivotal role in successfully conducting the election.
Similarly, Spokesperson at the Ministry, Ananda Kafle, said that Ministry’s prudence and collaborative leadership contributed to maintaining security and order during the election, yielding positive results.
