Arghakhanchi, April 9: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said Arghakhanchi, the homeland of great sage Maharshi Panini, is the land of knowledge, meditation and spiritualism.
Inaugurating the ‘Panini Tapobhoomi Conference’ organized in Arghakhanchi today, Prime Minister Oli shared that Arghakhanchi is the holy place from where the knowledge had originated and spread worldwide.
“This place, the homeland of the father of Sanskrit grammar Maharshi Panini, is a holy place. The knowledge was originated from here. The formulations of Panini have been acknowledged as the base of all other grammar,” he mentioned.
Prime Minister Oli further said language became simpler after the grammar developed by Panini and music and rhythm were developed with the start of the Vedic verses.
Stating that the contribution of Panini was extraordinary, he said that 3,959 rules of the Sanskrit grammar were developed and these formulations are also being used in today’s modern technology especially in the development of Artificial Intelligence.
The Prime Minister reiterated that the government would take responsibility to develop Arghakhanchi as the religious and touristic place through its proper publicity.
PM Oli expressed the government’s commitment to work with priority for the development of this holy land where the sage Panini had composed the Sanskrit grammar through rigorous study some 2500 years ago.
Prime Minister Oli, Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya, CPN (UML) Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali, Nepali Congress leaders Dr Chandra Bhandari and Pushpa Bhusal, Lumbini Province Industry and Tourism Minister Prachanda Bikram Neupane, religious guru and Sanskrit language scholar Gyanananda Saraswati and other linguists were present at the two-day conference.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Transport of Lumbini Province, the Tourism Development Council and Panini Rural Municipality and Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality.
From Panini area on the eastern border of Arghakhanchi, one can glimpse the Himalayan range on the north side, and the Tarai plains and the Indian land up to Gorakhpur towards the south.
Rhododendron trees and various herbs grow in this area and it looks naturally wonderful. One can reach Panini area of Arghakhanchi after walking for a few minutes from Tindhare of Palpa district. A paved road has also been constructed to reach this area now.
