Kathmandu, Oct 29: An Altitude Air helicopter crashed in Lobuche of Solukhumbu district on Wednesday morning.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the helicopter met with the accident at around 7:50 a.m. while attempting to land at Lobuche, Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality–5.
CAAN spokesperson Gyanendra Bhul said the aircraft slipped during landing, leading to the crash.
Only the pilot, Captain Bibek Khadka, was on board at the time of the incident. He was rescued safely, Bhul confirmed.
Captain Khadka had flown to Lobuche earlier in the morning for a tourist rescue mission, according to officials.
