Health Minister Mehata assumes office

Kathmandu, March 27: The newly-appointed Minister for Health and Population, and Water Supply, Nisha Mehata, has assumed her office today.

After taking the oath of office and secrecy at a special ceremony held at the President’s House Shital Niwas, she reached the Ministry in Singha Durbar and took charge of her duties.

The newly-appointed minister was welcomed by the ministry staff. Professionally a nurse, Mehata has been associated with RSP since its establishment.

She was elected as a proportional representative MP from the Madhesi cluster from RSP in the House of Representatives. Mehta, 38, from Inaruwa, Sunsari, has completed a postgraduate degree in nursing from India.
