Kathmandu, Nov 3: Minister for Health and Population Dr. Sudha Gautam held a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song on Monday to discuss ways to strengthen and expand cooperation in Nepal’s health sector.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on making bilateral health partnerships more sustainable and effective. According to the Ministry of Health, the discussions focused on improving and expanding services at BP Koirala Cancer Hospital in Bharatpur and Civil Hospital, enhancing cooperation in Ayurvedic health services, and promoting the production and processing of medicinal herbs in Nepal.
The two also discussed strengthening emergency health services and establishing an advanced gene laboratory in Nepal.
Minister Gautam expressed appreciation to the Chinese government for its continued support in cancer treatment, hospital service enhancement, and assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
