Harka Sampang insists on proper conservation, utilisation of natural resources

Kathmandu, April 2: Chairperson of the Shram Sanskriti Party, Harka Sampang Rai, has emphasized the need for provisions to ensure the public has easy access to the utilization of natural resources.

Addressing the first session of the House of Representatives (HoR) today following the March 5 elections, the leader stressed that natural resources should be utilized for national prosperity while ensuring their proper conservation.

Calling on everyone to contribute to the prevention of corruption and the establishment of good governance, he expressed the view that treaties that are not in favour of national sovereignty and dignity should be scrapped. He also proposed mobilizing the Nepali Army for border protection and advocated for a directly elected executive, announcing his party’s support for such a system.

He used the forum to call for an investigation into incidents of provocation and suppression that occurred on September 8–9, demanding that those responsible be brought to justice. He also urged an inquiry into the property ownership of all politicians and public officials.

Furthermore, he proposed linking education with production, introducing ideas such as “one local level: one industry” and “one household: one employment,” alongside reviving closed industries and establishing new ones.

He drew the government’s attention to the urgent need for effective service delivery in key sectors such as peace and security, education, health, and drinking water.
He also advised the government to reconsider its decision to scrap student unions and to review new standards for old-age allowances.
