Kaski, June 3: The Gandaki Provincial government has decided to suspend the implementation of the ‘ride sharing’ regulations for a month.
Following deliberations among the negotiation committee including Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey a decision was taken not to implement the regulations for a month, shared Kamal Kumar Adhikari, Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management and Coordinator of the committee.
Accordingly a decision has been taken to invite transport entrepreneurs for negotiations again and suspend the implementation of the Gandaki Provincial Ride Sharing (Regulation and Management) Regulations, 2082 during that period.
Secretary Adhikari also confirmed receiving a letter from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today to create an environment favourable for withdrawal of the public transport shutdown and bringing public life back to normal.
It may be noted that an agreement had been reached between the federal government and the transport entrepreneurs on Monday night, which included withdrawing of the ride sharing regulations from the Gandaki government.
