Foundation to be laid for Dodhara-Chandani Dry Port, Home Minister Lekhak

Dodhara Chandani (Kanchanpur), Sept 6: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said that the foundation stone of the dry port to be constructed in Dodhara-Chandani will be laid during the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to India.

At a training organized by his party, the Nepali Congress here today, he said that the Prime Ministers of both countries will jointly lay the foundation stone of the dry port to be constructed in Dodhara-Chandani during the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to India.

He also said that the country’s largest dry port will be built in Dodhara-Chandani.
Safety has been ensured after the construction of dams on the Mahakali and Jogbudha rivers banks in Dodhara-Chandani, he said while adding that remaining areas vulnerable to Jogbudha River floods will be protected by building more embankments.

Stating that the Nepali Congress played an important role in the constitution-making process in the country, he said the role of the Congress is important in strengthening the democratic governance system.
