Kathmandu, March 31 : Former Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kathmandu, Chhabi Rijal, has been arrested.
A team from the Crime Investigation Office detained Rijal on Tuesday morning. He faces allegations of using excessive force during the Gen Z protests held on Bhadra 23 and 24.
The probe commission led by Gauribahadur Karki had recommended action against Rijal.
Acting on the same recommendation, former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak were arrested last Saturday.
