Sudurpaschim, June 9: The leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist) parliamentary party in the Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly, Dirgha Bahadur Sodari, has been suspended from the Provincial Assembly.
In today’s meeting of the Provincial Assembly, Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari informed the Assembly that Sodari was suspended from the post of Provincial Assembly member after a communication was received that the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) been filed a case of corruption against him.
With the suspension of Sodari, who is also the former Chief Minister of the province, the party is now limited to three Provincial Assembly members in the Provincial Assembly.
The commission had filed a charge sheet in the special court a few days ago, alleging that Sodari had amassed wealth by misusing his position.
