Foreign Minister Rana calls on Indian Prime Minister Modi

Kathmandu, Aug 19: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arju Rana Deuba, who is in New Delhi on an official visit to India, paid a courtesy call on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Indian capital this evening.

During the meeting, various aspects of Nepal-India multilateral relations and mutual interests and concerns were discussed, according to the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi. While conveying warm greetings and best wishes from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, she also handed over his invitation to the Prime Minister of India for a State Visit to Nepal.

Earlier, Dr Rana held a bilateral meeting with her Indian counterpart Dr S Jaishankar. The meeting focused on matters relating to bilateral interests and relations between Nepal and India.

The Foreign Minister left here on Sunday for New Delhi at the cordial invitation of Jaishankar, the Minister for External Affairs, India. This is her first official visit to the southern neighbour since she assumed the office on July 15. She will return home on August 22.
