Biratnagar, March 26: Emphasis has been laid on the need for tourism partnership between Gandaki and Koshi Provinces.
This was stressed at a program organized here under the ongoing ‘Jaun Hai Pokhara’ or Lets Go to Pokhara campaign in eastern Nepal in collaboration with the Hotel
Association Nepal (HAN) Pokhara and Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Province.
Stating that Gandaki Province, including the tourism capital Pokhara, and Biratnagar, known as the industrial city of Nepal, are cities with great tourism potential, the speakers of the program said that both cities would benefit from tourism partnership.
Hotel Association Nepal Koshi Province President Rajan Shrestha said that both Gandaki and Koshi provinces would benefit from tourism partnership while suggesting the formation of a provincial tourism minister-level committee for tourism partnership with Gandaki Province should be effectively implemented.
Hotel Association Nepal Koshi Province Vice President Bhabi Shrestha said that there is a lot of tourism potential between Pokhara, the best city in Nepal, and the Koshi Province, which is home to the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest.
He shared that a large number of tourists can be exchanged through tourism partnerships in religious tourist destinations including Bindhyabasini in Pokhara and Barahakhestra in Koshi.
Hotel Association Nepal Pokhara President Laxman Subedi said that the ‘Jaun Hai Pokhara’ program has been operating in major cities of Nepal for the past 25 years with the objective of promoting domestic tourism.
Stating that the Fewa New Year festival is going to be held in Pokhara from Chaitra 29 to Baisakh 1 this year, he shared that there is a package with 25 percent discount in hotels in Pokhara on the occasion.
