Dembélé and Bonmatí named FIFA Best Players of the Year 2025

Agency, Dec 17: Ousmane Dembélé and Aitana Bonmatí have been named the 2025 FIFA Best Men’s and Women’s Players of the Year, respectively.

At the award ceremony held on Tuesday night, Dembélé was crowned FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year. The Paris Saint-Germain forward played a crucial role in guiding PSG to the UEFA Champions League title last season. He had also won the prestigious Ballon d’Or earlier.

Dembélé further led PSG to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, although the French side were defeated by Chelsea in the final.

Since the beginning of 2025, Dembélé has recorded an impressive 30 goals and 12 assists, making him one of the most influential players in front of goal. Only four players contributed more in terms of goals during this period.

Meanwhile, Aitana Bonmatí was named FIFA Best Women’s Player of the Year. The Barcelona star guided her club to the Women’s Champions League final and played a key role in leading Spain to the final of the Women’s European Championship.

In the coaching categories, PSG head coach Luis Enrique was awarded Best Men’s Coach of the Year, while England’s Sarina Wiegman was named Best Women’s Coach of the Year.
