Curfew Imposed in Simara After Protest Against UML Leader

Kathmandu, Nov 19:   Authorities in Bara have imposed a curfew in Simara on Tuesday after Gen-Z youths took to the streets protesting against CPN-UML leader Mahesh Basnet.

Chief District Officer Dharmendra Kumar Mishra announced that the curfew will remain in force from 12:20 PM to 8:00 PM, citing the need to maintain law and order.

The order has been enforced under Sections 6(a) and 6(b) of the Local Administration Act, 2028, covering the designated four-boundary area within Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City, officials said.

The administration stated that the decision was taken to prevent potential escalation of tensions following the demonstration.
