CPN (US) demands high-level probe commission against corruption

Kathmandu, March 14: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has demanded the government that it formed a high-level investigation commission to act against corruption.

At a press meet here Friday, General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal pressed the need to constitute a commission with the constitutional and legal provisions so that it would investigate the property owned by people assuming the public posts.

He called for structural and procedural reforms in political front. “The prevention of corruption remains elusive until it is guaranteed that those responsible for corruption will be punished.”

Politics should be centered on people’s daily lives and the sustainable future of the nation, he stressed, sharing about the party was launching a ‘campaign for employment and good governance’.

Highlighting the need for availability of transport, energy, irrigation, drinking water, telephone and internet for the increased agricultural productivity, industrial and trade activities and the development of tourism, education and health sectors, General Secretary Bhusal said the State’s investment in infrastructure development would contribute to bringing quality results for labour market and the national income.

The nation can not stand the prolonged political instability and the state of uncertainty, he said, proposing the government to promptly organize a ‘National Conference for Employment and Good Governance’.
