Kathmandu, February 20: The Chinese New Year Garden Party was successfully held at the China Cultural Center in Nepal in Kathmandu, bringing together representatives from diplomatic, tourism, aviation, and cultural sectors of both Nepal and China.
The event was jointly organized by the China Cultural Center in Nepal, China Southern Airlines Kathmandu Office, and the China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu, with special support from the Confucius Classroom at L.R.I. International School.
More than 330 guests attended the celebration, including Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal Mr. Anil Kumar Sinha, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Mr. Zhang Maoming, along with representatives and friends from various sectors of both countries.
The venue was beautifully decorated with lanterns and festive ornaments, creating a joyful Spring Festival atmosphere. During the warm-up session, a large outdoor screen showcased highlights from the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, promotional videos on China’s winter tourism, and an introduction to China Southern Airlines.
Representatives from the China National Tourist Office and China Southern Airlines delivered presentations under the theme “Nihao! China,” promoting tourism opportunities and convenient flight routes between Kathmandu and major Chinese cities. The presentations provided valuable travel information and strengthened tourism cooperation between the two nations.
During the formal session, Minister Sinha, Ambassador Zhang, and other distinguished guests exchanged greetings and expressed their commitment to deepening bilateral friendship. Traditional cultural performances, the “Tempo of China” photo exhibition, interactive activities, and authentic Chinese cuisine offered guests an immersive cultural experience. Nepali songs and dances performed on the same stage added further vibrancy, making the celebration colorful and joyful.
Looking ahead, the China Cultural Center in Nepal reaffirmed its commitment to serving as a cultural bridge and tourism link, promoting deeper mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Nepal and China.
