Kathmandu, Oct 15: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, held a meeting with Jagdish Kharel, Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Spokesperson of the Government. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Nepal relations and issues of mutual concern.
Ambassador Chen Song congratulated Kharel on his new post and stated that China is a traditional friendly neighbor of Nepal, and the friendship between the two countries dates back a long time.
China firmly supports Nepal in safeguarding its national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and respects the development path independently chosen by the Nepalese people. In recent years, the two countries have seen growing political mutual trust, and fruitful practical cooperation in various areas, including communications, has yielded fruitful results.
Kharel sincerely thanked the Chinese government for its long-term assistance and support to Nepal and reiterated that Nepal will continue to firmly adhere to the one-China principle and will never allow any force to use Nepali territory to engage in anti-China separatist activities.
Nepal is willing to continue to deepen the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative between the two countries and promote long-term, sustainable development in all sectors, including communications and information technology.
