Kathmandu, Sept 18: China has congratulated Sushila Karki on her appointment as Prime Minister of Nepal’s interim government. On Thursday, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song met with Prime Minister Karki to convey Beijing’s congratulations and support.
According to the Chinese Embassy, the two sides exchanged views during the meeting and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral friendship and cooperation. “We are pleased to meet Prime Minister Sushila Karki and extend our heartfelt congratulations and support,” the embassy said. “We exchanged ideas and agreed to further promote our friendship and cooperation.” Earlier, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had also extended its congratulations to the Prime Minister.
Following her appointment, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Navin Srivastava met Prime Minister Karki on Bhadra 31 to convey a message from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Today, Prime Minister Karki also held a telephone conversation with PM Modi.
