Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos to visit Nepal for NSL

Kathmandu, April 5: Legendary Brazilian defender Roberto Carlos is set to arrive in Nepal to witness the ongoing Nepal Super League (NSL), the country’s premier franchise football tournament.

The announcement was made by the NSL organizer, Nepal Sports and Event Management, during halftime of the match between Lalitpur City FC and Dhangadhi FC.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders in football history, the 51-year-old Carlos had an illustrious international career with Brazil, earning 125 caps and scoring 10 goals between 1992 and 2006. He represented Brazil in three FIFA World Cups and was a key member of the squad that lifted the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan.

At club level, Carlos enjoyed a remarkable spell with Spanish giants Real Madrid from 1996 to 2007, making 372 appearances and netting 48 goals. His powerful free kicks and electrifying pace made him a fan favorite and a global football icon.

His visit is expected to add excitement and international attention to the NSL, as Nepali football continues to grow on the global stage.
