Agency, November 3: Catalan giants Barcelona registered a comfortable victory in the Spanish La Liga. In the match held on Sunday night, Barcelona defeated Elche 3–1 to climb up to second place in the league table.
Playing at home, Barcelona’s goals came from Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Marcus Rashford, each scoring once. Rafa Mir netted the lone goal for Elche.
Yamal opened the scoring in the 9th minute, giving Barcelona an early lead. Just two minutes later, Torres doubled the advantage to make it 2–0. Elche responded in the 42nd minute through Mir, narrowing the deficit before halftime.
In the 61st minute, Rashford added a third to restore Barcelona’s two-goal cushion. No further goals were scored in the remaining time, sealing a 3–1 victory for Barcelona.
With the win, Barcelona moved to 25 points from 11 matches, maintaining their position near the top of the table. Meanwhile, Elche, with 14 points from the same number of games, sits ninth in the standings.
