Arda Güler stunner caps Real Madrid’s 4-1 victory

Agency, March 15: Real Madrid secured a comfortable win in the Spanish La Liga on Saturday night, defeating Elche 4-1 to reduce the gap to league leaders Barcelona.

Playing at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid delivered a dominant performance with goals from Antonio Rüdiger, Federico Valverde, Dean Huijsen, and Arda Güler. Elche’s only goal came through an own goal late in the match.

Real Madrid took the lead in the 39th minute when Antonio Rüdiger found the back of the net to put the hosts ahead.

The home side doubled their advantage in the 44th minute, as Federico Valverde converted after a fine assist from Fran García.

Madrid continued to control the game after the break, and in the 66th minute, Dean Huijsen extended the lead to 3-0 by scoring from Daniel Yáñez’s cross.

Elche pulled one back in the 85th minute after Manuel Ángel accidentally turned the ball into his own net, gifting the visitors a goal.

However, Real Madrid sealed the emphatic victory in style in the 89th minute, when Arda Güler scored a stunning long-range goal from around 60 yards to make it 4-1.

With the win, Real Madrid remain second in the La Liga standings with 66 points from 28 matches, while Elche sit in 17th place with 26 points from the same number of games.
