Al Nassr knocked out of AFC Champions League

Agency, May 1: Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr has been eliminated from the AFC Champions League Elite after a 3-2 defeat to Kawasaki Frontale in the semi-final on Wednesday night.

In the match held at Al Awwal Park Stadium, Kawasaki secured the win with goals from Tatsuya Ito, Yuto Ozeki, and Akihiro Ienaga — each scoring once. For Al Nassr, Sadio Mané and Ayman Yahya were on target with a goal apiece.

Tatsuya Ito opened the scoring in the 10th minute, giving Kawasaki an early lead. However, in the 28th minute, Mané equalized for Al Nassr, bringing the score to 1-1.

Yuto Ozeki restored Kawasaki’s lead in the 41st minute, and in the 76th minute, Ienaga extended the advantage to 3-1.

Ayman Yahya pulled one back for Al Nassr in the 87th minute, but it wasn’t enough, as no further goals were scored in the remaining time. Al Nassr ultimately lost the match 3-2 and bowed out of the competition.

With the win, Kawasaki has advanced to the final, where they will face Al Ahli on May 3.
