Acting President of NC informs party on latest political development

Kathmandu, Oct 16: Acting President of the Nepali Congress, Purna Bahadur Khadka, informed party leaders and members on the latest political development on Thursday.
In the central working committee meeting of the party that began two days back, the central members have been putting forth views on contemporary political issues.

After President Sher Bahadur Deuba stepped aside, assigning Khadka as Acting President of the party, Khadka has chaired the meeting at central office, Sanepa.
Following the views by Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Thapa presented various proposals in the meeting.

The central members speaking on Thursday were Dr Shekhar Koirala, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, Devendra Raj Kandel, Shiva Prasad Humagain, Rajiv Koirala, Guru Baral and Nrip Bahadur Wad.

Chief Secretary at party office, Krishna Prasad Paudel, informed that meeting would continue at 11:00am next day.

Earlier on October 14, President Deuba delivered a special speech in the first meeting since Gen-Z protest and assigned Khadka as Acting President, citing his health condition.

Deuba was attacked seriously at his own residence during the Gen-Z protest on September 9. He had to undergo treatment since then. He is now recovering his health, the party added.
