Army chief inquires about peacekeepers in Lebanon and Syria

Kathmandu, Sept 27: Chief of Army Staff Ashokraj Sigdel has taken information through virtual means about the current security situation and various aspects of Lebanon and Syria.

Nepali peace keepers from Nepal Army are deployed there at the call of the United Nations.
On that occasion, the Syrian Force Commander and Lebanon’s Deputy Force Commander and Senior National Officer informed the Chief of Army Staff about the latest security situation and developments in Lebanon, according to the Directorate of Nepal Army’s Public Relations and Information.

The directorate also informed that NA chief Sigdel addressed the Nepalese peacekeepers stationed there and directed them to perform their duties with patience while being prepared to face the possible security challenges.

He highly praised the discipline and duty shown by the Nepalese peacekeepers in adverse conditions there. The army has informed that the Nepalese peacekeepers currently deployed in these missions are safe.
