Many people lose their lives to snakebite in Terai zone especially during summer and monsoon seasons.

Kishore Shrestha, Information Officer at the Seti Provincial Hospital, attributed many snakebite related deaths to the tendency of some communities to treat snakebite patients at home and take them to hospitals only when their situation gets critical. —
