Kathmandu, Nov, 4: The government has decided to appoint Additional Inspector General (AIG) Manoj KC as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Nepal Police, replacing Dan Bahadur Karki.
A Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday afternoon decided to remove Karki from the post and appoint KC as the new police chief.
Minister for Information and Communications Bikram Timilsina said the government had also decided to appoint Karki as security adviser to Prime Minister Balen Shah. Tensions had reportedly been escalating between Karki and KC within Nepal Police in recent times.
