Agency, Oct 31: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) continued their impressive run in Ligue 1 with a convincing 5-1 victory over Le Havre, thanks to a sensational hat-trick from right-back Achraf Hakimi.
PSG came from behind to secure all three points in Friday night’s encounter at Stade Océane, extending their winning momentum in the French top flight.
Hakimi was the star of the night, scoring three goals, while Mika Godts and Senny Mayulu also found the net for the visitors. Hakimi additionally provided assists for both teammates’ goals. Josh Maja scored Le Havre’s only goal.
Le Havre made a bright start and took the lead in the 18th minute through Maja. However, PSG responded eight minutes later when Godts levelled the score in the 26th minute.
Hakimi then put PSG ahead just two minutes later, scoring in the 28th minute to make it 2-1 before doubling his tally with a direct free-kick in the 55th minute.
Mayulu extended PSG’s advantage to 4-1 in the 62nd minute, before Hakimi completed his hat-trick seven minutes later to seal a comprehensive 5-1 victory.
With the win, PSG moved to the top of the Ligue 1 standings with 20 points from nine matches. Le Havre, meanwhile, remained at the bottom of the table in 18th place with just two points from the same number of games.
