Agency, Sep 20: Defending champions Arsenal suffered a shock defeat in the English Premier League, losing 3–0 to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday night.
Playing at the American Express Stadium, Brighton produced an impressive performance to secure a convincing victory. Pascal Groß, Charalampos Kostoulas and Chema Andrés were on the scoresheet for the hosts.
Groß opened the scoring in the 31st minute, giving Brighton a 1–0 lead. Kostoulas then doubled the advantage just before half-time, finding the net in the 45th minute.
Brighton continued to dominate after the break, with Andrés scoring in the 57th minute to make it 3–0. Arsenal were unable to find a response as Brighton comfortably held on for all three points.
The victory takes Brighton to third place with 10 points from five matches, while Arsenal remain second with five points from the same number of games.
