Kathmandu, Aug, 21 : A 22-year-old man died after being beaten and attacked with a sharp weapon at Valley Boys Hostel in Shankhamul, Kathmandu, on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Basanta Kalathoki, 22, of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-17, Dang, who was residing at the hostel.
According to police, Kalathoki was allegedly attacked by 18-year-old Shekhar Yadav of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-3, Bara, and around 20-year-old Pramit Patel, who also lived at the same hostel.
Kalathoki sustained serious injuries to his head and neck in the attack. He was rushed to the Civil Servants Hospital in Minbhawan, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.
Police have arrested Yadav in connection with the incident, while Patel, who is absconding, is being searched for.
Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
