Butwal, Aug, 17 : Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya will seek a vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly today.
The Provincial Assembly meeting is scheduled for 1 pm. At the start of the meeting, Speaker will read out letters received from the Province Chief, after which the process for the chief minister to seek a vote of confidence will begin.
Acharya is seeking the vote after the Nepali Congress withdrew its ministers from the provincial government following the end of its alliance with the CPN-UML.
Under the new federal power-sharing arrangement, the CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre), Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) are preparing to support the Acharya-led government.
With these parties supporting the government, Chief Minister Acharya is expected to secure the vote of confidence without difficulty.
